The cart drawer tracks progress toward the gift threshold and lets the customer choose their sample.

Dermalogica is a global skincare brand, which sets the bar for how finished everything has to look. Two pieces of work here, both aimed at order value.

The subscription widget

Recharge’s default widget works, but it looks like Recharge — not like Dermalogica. I rebuilt the product-page interface on top of it: the choice between a one-off purchase and a subscription, the delivery interval, and the benefits that come with subscribing, all styled as part of the theme rather than as an embedded widget wearing the brand’s colours.

The cart progress bar

The cart drawer shows how far the customer is from the next reward — “nur noch 95,00 € bis zum gratis Geschenk” — with a progress bar that fills as items are added. Cross the threshold and a gift picker appears so the customer chooses their own luxury sample rather than having one assigned.

The detail that makes it work is that it recalculates on every cart change, so the number is never stale by one action. A progress bar that lags behind the cart is worse than no progress bar, because it teaches people not to trust it.

Note on attribution

This was agency work — I built these features, not the whole store.
