Bloomify
Three-tier reward cart, and a platform migration
A cart that ladders customers through free shipping and two gift tiers — on a store migrated to Shopify without changing how it looked.
Bloomify sells plants and garden supplies. Two pieces of work: the cart, and getting the store onto Shopify in the first place.
The reward ladder
Rather than a single free-shipping threshold, the cart runs three: free shipping, then a first gift, then a second. Each is a marker on one continuous bar, with the remaining amount to the next one spelled out — “es fehlen noch 49,02 € für kostenlosen Versand”.
Three tiers instead of one means the incentive doesn’t disappear the moment free shipping is reached. There’s always a next rung visible while the customer is still in the cart.
The migration
Bloomify came from another platform, and the requirement was that the store should look the same afterwards. That constraint is harder than a redesign. With a redesign, “close enough” is a judgement call; with a migration, every difference reads as something broken. It means matching layout and spacing against the old storefront rather than building to a fresh design, and rebuilding on Shopify’s data model — products, variants, collections — without letting the structural differences surface in the front end.
I’ve since done the same for Lansche Fahnen and leevje.com, both under the same brief: move platforms, keep the storefront recognisable.
